Maintenance Outage Causes Power Disruption in Parts of South East as TCN Conducts Repairs

The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) recently carried out maintenance work in the South East region, leading to a power outage in several areas. This maintenance was necessary to ensure the reliability and stability of the power grid. The outage affected various locations, causing inconvenience to residents and businesses in the affected areas.

Details of the Power Outage:

The power outage was a result of emergency maintenance work conducted by TCN engineers.
The maintenance focused on the T1A 150MVA Power Transformer at the New Haven Station in Enugu.

The outage impacted several areas, including:
Kingsway Line 1&2 33KV
New Haven 33KV
Government House 33KV
Independence Layout 33KV
New NNPC 33KV feeders.
Customers in parts of Emene, the entire 9th Mile and surrounding communities, New Haven, Independence Layout, Coal City Garden, GRA, Golf, areas behind the Central Bank of Nigeria, and others experienced a loss of electricity supply. Additional affected areas included Colliary, Constitution Road, Railway/Good Shed, Western Avenue, Bank Avenue, Ridge Way, Club Road, Kingsway Way Road, Enugu Secretariat, Red Cross, Court Avenue, Fidelity Estate, Shoprite, Golden Royale, CBN Quarters, New Market, Works Road, Aguowa, Artisan Market, Asata, New Haven Market, and their environs.

The Enugu Electricity Distribution Company (EEDC) assured customers that power supply would be restored once the maintenance work was completed.
The EEDC expressed its commitment to providing improved services to its valued customers.
