According to an official statement from the Ministry of Housing and Urban Development, Minister of Housing Arc. Ahmed Musa Dangiwa will lead the groundbreaking ceremonies in Kano, Katsina, Yobe, and Gombe from May 22 to May 25, 2024.
Project Timeline and Locations:

In addition to the units in the northern states, the project encompasses 500 units in Kano and 250 units each in Katsina, Sokoto, Yobe, Gombe, Nasarawa, Benue, Osun, Oyo, Abia, Ebonyi, Delta, and Akwa Ibom.
Minister Dangiwa emphasized that these efforts align with President Bola Tinubu’s vision for housing development in Nigeria. The Renewed Hope Cities and Estates Project aims to address the country’s housing deficit by providing affordable, modern housing solutions to Nigerians.
Historical Context:
Earlier in February, President Tinubu launched the Renewed Hope Cities and Estates programme with a flagship project of 3,112 housing units in Karsana, Abuja. This initiative underscores the government’s commitment to improving the living standards of its citizens through substantial investment in housing infrastructure.
Future Prospects:
The successful implementation of this housing project is expected to significantly alleviate the housing shortage in the affected states, providing residents with better living conditions and boosting local economies. The Renewed Hope Cities and Estates Project also aims to foster urban development, creating sustainable communities equipped with modern amenities.
This week’s groundbreaking ceremonies are a pivotal step towards realizing the broader goals of the Renewed Hope Cities and Estates initiative, setting a precedent for subsequent phases and reinforcing the federal government’s dedication to enhancing housing accessibility across Nigeria.
