In a remarkable achievement, Covenant University has once again emerged as the best university in Nigeria, surpassing both the University of Ibadan (UI) and the Federal University of Technology, Akure (FUTA).

This accolade was bestowed upon Covenant University for the second consecutive time in the prestigious 2024 ranking by Times Higher Education.

According to the analysis of the latest rankings released on Thursday, the university, located in Ota, Ogun State, has joined the ranks of the top 1,000 universities globally. Its position at 801st in the world marks a significant milestone. Covenant University initially gained prominence in 2018 when it claimed the title of the best university in Nigeria and secured an impressive sixth place overall.

The World University ranking, which encompasses 1,904 universities from 108 countries and regions, serves as the basis for this evaluation. The ranking takes into account various performance indicators across five key areas: teaching, research environment, research quality, industry engagement, and international outlook. This comprehensive assessment is part of the newly implemented WUR 3.0 methodology.
