In a significant crackdown on cybercrime and transnational criminal activities, the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) has arraigned 113 foreign nationals before the Federal High Court in Abuja. The suspects face a litany of charges, including computer-related fraud, marketing scams, money laundering, unauthorized data access, conspiracy, and illegal immigration.
The arrests were made on November 3, 2024, in Jahi, a suburb of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), following a meticulously planned operation by the National Cyber Crime Centre (NPF-NCCC) and the Zone 7 Command of the NPF.
During the operation, police recovered a vast array of high-tech equipment believed to be instrumental in the syndicate’s sophisticated cybercrime activities. Items seized include:
- Laptops, smartphones, and tablets from various brands.
- High-capacity servers, central processing units, and gaming devices, including a Sony PlayStation 5.
- A Black Toyota Tundra vehicle and a Harman/Kardon sound system.
- Multiple SIM cards from local and international providers.
- Routers from brands such as MTN, Huawei, Airtel, D-Link, and Starlink.
- International passports, identity cards, and other travel documents.
- Drones and specialized cyber-equipment.
The recovered assets are suspected to have been used in unauthorized data breaches, marketing scams, and other illicit online activities.

Force Public Relations Officer, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, highlighted the operation’s significance, noting the scale and sophistication of the syndicate’s activities, which reflect the growing global threat posed by cybercriminal organizations operating across borders.
“These arrests underscore the increasing challenge of transnational cybercrime, which requires collaborative efforts between nations to combat effectively,” Adejobi said in a statement.
