PDP Imo State Candidate Anyanwu Denies Stepping Down for APC’s Uzodimma Ahead of Election

Date:

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate in Imo State, Senator Samuel Anyanwu, has refuted claims of stepping down for the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Uzodinma, just a few hours before the election. Anyanwu has stated that the viral video circulating, suggesting his withdrawal, was manipulated to deceive the electorate in the state.

Anyanwu’s denial of stepping down came in response to a viral video that falsely claimed he had withdrawn from the gubernatorial race. The video was heavily edited and had manipulated audio to mislead the public. Anyanwu’s campaign council, the SamJones Governorship Campaign Council, released a statement categorically stating that the information in the video was false. They urged the people of Imo State to ignore the video and linked it to mischief makers.

Despite the rumors and false video, Anyanwu remained optimistic about his chances in the election. He expressed confidence in his ability to claim power from the incumbent governor, Hope Uzodinma. Anyanwu’s campaign had gained significant support, and he was considered a strong contender in the race. The PDP candidate had been actively campaigning and had a substantial following in the state.
